Hands up if you have a Gemini Boss? Put them right up in the air...where I can see them...

Hmmmm I thought so, not that many of you. And that is no reflection on Gemini, just a reflection on their dislike of bureaucracy and policies and all the ticks in the boxes that Human Resources seem to think that you need to have in order to effectively manage people.

Bell curves? Too restrictive. Reviews? Why bother when there won’t be any pay-rises coming out the back of them. Gemini dislikes the type of structure that is there solely to achieve compliance- it leaves them with little room to move.

Sure, there are some exceptions...there always are, but on the whole, Gemini doesn’t really do hands on management well, but in the right environment with the right team has this uncanny knack of bringing out the absolute best in people. Gemini Boss will listen to your problems- he really is interested in information and people, but you won’t last long if you need a stable, business as usual environment with all tasks being spoon fed to you. Gemini Boss doesn’t work like that.

Gemini Boss works really well in organisations that are growing fast enough that chaos is almost a constant and where success can depend on coming up with some really left field strategies. This is one sign that thrives on crisis- and not just because it provides mental stimulation. Problems, really juicy and interesting problems, allow Gemini to engage in one of their favourite pastimes- people watching. Gemini Boss really enjoys analysing what the people around them do, and all facets of the situation...usually stepping in with a gob-stoppingly brilliant solution at the 11^th hour....saving the day-again.
